New 2012 Beautiful GRB Kokocaster in Sunburst.
These Surfcaster Tribute Guitars by GRB are probably the best tribute guitars we have ever played. Classic Surfcasters are getting so hard to find these days that it’s amazing timely that the Madison Wisconsin custom guitar maker, GRB, decided to produce this tribute model. I hope the pictures do it justice. The wood grain, finish and craftsmanship are stunning. I’ve had several Surfcasters myself, and the GRB Kokocaster is as nice or nicer than the originals from ’91 and ’92 and kicks the ass of the lame later models, from India and elsewhere. Quilted, flame maple top, gorgeous mahogany back, pearl inlays, gorgeous body and neck binding, hand polished frets. The lipstick pickups are great and give you that classic surf sound. An extremely versatile axe. It’s got the rock maple neck with a natural wood feel on the finish with medium vintage frets. And it’s a close replica of the very unusual thin and wide original Surfcaster neck. They make two versions, Stoptail and Tremolo. This listing is for the tremolo.
You don’t have to worry about your original getting trashed or stolen anymore. The replacement is here.
As always, when you buy a GRB from Nick’s, you get the best set-up Luthier in Wisconsin and Wisconsin’s only Martin Authorized Service Luthier, setting it up and making sure it arrives with maximum playability, Nut filed, Truss Rod adjusted, frets polished and action perfected.
